Q: Why cant I just get a ride to and from the game, instead of having the limo there doing nothing?

A: This is perhaps the one question that is asked of me the most. Here are the facts, there are a few companies that will make you a promise that they will pick you up at a certain time after the event. It is not possible to make such a promise, because the same promise was made to another party sharing the same car. The only way to insure that a limousine is there when you need it during your event is to lease it for that period. It is a fact that the good companies in our area often have to bail out the clients of others who choose to run there business that way. Its a tough answer, but its the truth.

Q: How do I know that I, or my children are with a safe driver?

A: Couple of points, in Hillsborough County you want to look for a tag on the driver. It is required to be worn at all times. We make the driver wear it even when they are in another county. The sheriff's Dept. in Tampa does a background check on every person who has one of these special licenses. Also ask the company about there training program. How do they train the drivers to be good operators of there equipment? This is critical to making sure that your time with any limousine company is safe.Click on link to see when there is no regulation in other counties what could happen!!!!!!!! http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/sptimes/303123931.html?MAC=0de79eb042e127735ead794c1080ab7f&did=303123931&FMT=FT&FMTS=FT&date=Mar+7%2C+2003&author=&pub=&printformat=&des

Q: In Hillsborough County,How do I know if the company is a reputable company?

A: As a rule,IF THEY ARE NOT CERTIFIED BY HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Look for the silver sticker on the rear window of the vehicle. The process to receive certification is a long and arduous task. They go into everything about the companies owner. If they are allowed to operate in Tampa, then your on a good track. Make sure you know that the company, is on the list of the Hillsborough County list for approved limousine company's. The number for the department is (813)-272-5814 or visit their website.

Q: Can we rent for one hour? What is gratuity?

A: We estimate that 95% of the limousine industry does not offer a limousine for one hour. To hire a limousine, most services require a minimum hourly booking, typically 3 hours. In high demand months, such as the spring, hourly minimums can increase to 5, 6, and sometimes 8 hours. In addition, each limousine service charges a standard gratuity which is based on the total fare. Gratuities averages are 20%. If your total rental bill is $300., expect to be charged a $60. gratuity charge. Some companies automatically include gratuity in there fare estimates, while others do not. Either way, it is customary to budget gratuity in your rental cost. Limousine Chauffeurs earn there living by gratuities, much like waiters do in fine dining establishments

Q: How would i know if the limousine company i contract will be there for my event.

A: Make sure you have a signed contract from the company you reserve for your special event,I get calls all the time from consumers calling at the last minute saying their limousine company cancelled on them .I always ask them did you get a contract, answer is usually no. The answer to that question is the limousine company got a higher paying job and probably told the customer limo has broke down somewhere. THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS TO ALWAY'S SIGN A CONTRACT.Here at sunshine limousines we always provide contracts specifying the date, time and limo description.I have noticed alot of FLY BY NIGHT LIMO COMPANIES opening up in various counties. The best advise i have is to book with a reputable company that is established.Alot of these FLY BY NIGHT companies are just starting up with 1 car ask them if limo is breaks down how will they accommodate you,ALSO ALOT OF THESE OPERATORS MIGHT NOT HAVE THE CORRECT INSURANCE AND OR INEXPERIENCED and or have a very old model limousines. My advise choose a company that has been in business for a while and also has more than one limo and can provide past customer referrals. Also stay away from companies who won't let you see limousine you will be reserving and will not give you office location or operate business from a P.O BOX #.

P.S: I cannot stress enough to stay away from operators whose fleet is older than 3 years.from my experience .limousines have a shelf life of 3 years because of the wear and tear these vehicles are put through.!!!!
